San Miguel

January 15, 2009

It was hard to get inspired to shoot pictures creatively at all for the first few days in San Miguel. I could have cared less. After a few days of letting go and embracing the vibe of the people, I began to feel the feeling. One morning after our usual breakfast at Perroccia I was standing in the open doorway waiting for Kincaid to finish browsing the bookstore. I happened to glance upward and voila!.. My creative energy began pumping once again. The first three images below are exactly what I saw that morning when I looked up. The colors in San Miguel are so vivid and the sky is always somehow so blue. I was so intrigued by the streamers hanging and the shadows on the walls of the homes. I took a great collection of images of doors, so I piled them in with this bunch. I was totally fascinated by all of the electrical lines hanging all over the place completely crossed up. The number of lines was so hilarious in most cases. It seemed to be my favorite thing to photograph.
